Here are a couple pictures of the base of my Monarch 10EE, specifically in the motor 
compartment.

A mouse had started to build a nest there, thankfully never finished.

The DC motor sucked up the fibrous debris into the screen.

Thankfully I have maybe ½ hour of spindle-on time since buying it….left alone this 
could cause big problems.
