These are more pictures of my Bridgeport CNC Conversion. The mill is a 1963 J-Head Step Pulley Mill that was a Government Surplus mill. The CNC Conversion consists of the following elements: 1200 oz/in Stepper Motors (X and Y) 400 oz/in Stepper Motor (Z) G201 Gecko Stepper Drives (X, Y and Z) PMDX-135 Power Prep Module PMDX-131 Breakout Motherboard 60V Toridal Transformer HP eVectra Computer Hitachi VFD I was very fortunate that my mill had a NEMA Enclosure attached to it that used to house all of the large contactors. I gutted this box and installed all of my components. The VFD is actually fastened to the back of the NEMA enclosure. Image 1-4 show the Z axis conversion I used. I have been very diligent to not change major elements of the Mill to add the CNC Conversion. I am using a 4:1 gear ration for the Z Axis.
