Adding way covers to a Burke Millrite I made a set of way covers for my Millrite using some scrap aluminum and an old discarded treadmill belt. It's been in use for 2 years and seems to work fine for my needs. The photos are self explanatory. I had to drill a couple of holes in the top of the column to fasten the rear cover support. The saddle of my mill already had 4 tapped holes in the front and back when I bought it, so I used those for the cover support strips. I cut a slot in the front cover to fit closely around the table stop. I couldn't find a good place to attach a cover support to the front of the saddle, since I routinely run the saddle off the front of the knee ways. So I just let the cover hang over the front, which protects the handles as well. I sometimes use a magnet to hold the front cover up so it doesn't take two hands to operate the handles.
