I have a friend who is a real machinist (mostly vertical slotter and large portable boring bar work etc.) who is just finishing reconditioning a very nice Japanese lathe Yamazaki, also sold under Mazak name (Same thing) VERY heavy duty. Not like the light 16x60's available everywhere. Very good hard ways, L series spindle. Plows metal off without any complaints, leaves excellent finish. This guy really goes through his machines. Every machine in his shop is smooth, tight, trimmed and oiled......he is one of the best old-school machinists. He even had a new heat-treated gear made that was damaged from a previous knucklehead's crash. All slides smooth as silk. Additionally, Ferrol (the guy who owns this) has custom made a metric gear set and is including this at the same price. Has steady rest, 3 jaw chuck, tailstock live center. This is a very nicely done lathe with every detail attended to, just run this thing, no work needed. at least 4000 lbs. $5000 or best offer. I can give him your phone number if interested, He has no internet skills. Brett Flemming Vancouver,WA efficientvelo@aol.com 360-896-6462
