FILENAMES: Logan2.txt Logan2.jpg Logan2a.jpg Logan2b.jpg Logan2c.jpg LoganB4.jpg LoganB4a.jpg DESCRIPTION: Pictures and description of the restoration of a Logan lathe. Posted by Frank Graham . Frank provided the following description: ========================================================================== The photos are of my Logan 820 10" bench lathe before and after a complete overhaul and conversion to a cabinet drive setup using the cabinet from a Logan 1825 lathe. If you are in the process of overhauling a machine the Logan2.txt file contains details ( from an old posting on RCM ) of the process and paints I used on this job. If you've got a question e-mail me at frankgraham@msn.com ==== and later in rec.crafts.metalworking Frank added: I went with a solid older American lathe and rebuilt it and in the process turned it into the machine I 'really' wanted. With sweat equity I feel I have a better machine at less overall cost than if I had bought a new import. You can take a look by going to the dropbox and looking at the files Logan...B4, B4a,2, 2a,2b and 2c.jpg The two txt files Logan.txt gives a short description and Logan2.txt gives details of the stripping and painting process -- Frank
