This a picture of a gear cutting setup in a lathe.  Posted by 
Lawrence Wallace <wd8jik@HGO.Net>. Lawrence provided the

The picture is from a 1937 Atlas Lathe Operation manual.
It came with my lathe, but  my lathe is from the 1960's, all
the attachments shown in the manual are the same as on my lathe.
As  can be seen from the picture, it's used with the milling attachment.

From the Manual:
A blue print for making this gear cutting attachment is available.
the charge of  85 cents covers cost of printing and mailing.
I wonder if one of those old prints is out there some where!
