FILENAMES: first1.jpg first2.jpg DESCRIPTION: These are pictures of a lathe chuck backplate threading poject undertaken by Jason North . Jason provided the following description: ========================================================================= These are pictures of my first successful threading project. It is a 42 x 2 mm thread plug guage and a 5" backing plate for the Bison 5C collet chuck, for use with my vererable Asian 3in1 lathe-mill-drill. The new plate is on the left, with the plug guage in the middle and the original 4" backplate on the right. I produced both the inner and outer threads on my 7x10 Mini-Lathe, using Varmit Al's "GEARS.EXE" bas program to calculate the change gear combination to produce the 2mm metric pitch. first1.jpg- shows the threading project first2.jpg- shows the new plate mounted and being stepped for the chuck.
