Posted by Dan Mauch . Dan provided the following description: ================================================================= Here are the pictures of my recently completed 4 axis servo system that uses step and direction signals from low cost CNC G code interpreters. The Amps are rated to 20 Amp per channel. The motors used are the equivalent of 420 oz in stepper motors except that run much faster. I am getting over 180 IPM on my mill drill. If interested see my web page at www.seanet.com/~dmauch for more information. Features are that it can run everything from a mini mill such as the Sherline to a full size mill like my Enco vertical knee mill. The current limiting, gain and dampening are adjustable to suit your needs. A really nice feature is that the front panel has a switch that can shut off the power to the motors for manual movement. The LED's on the front panel indicate a fault ( short circuit) over speed/encoder problems. The system is reset by pressing the switch down then up to rest and finally to the center position for operation. The back panel has a place for 120VAC input, parallel port connection, X-Y-Z-A servo motor and encoder connections. It also has a fan for cooling everthing. Dan
