FILENAMES: DRO-update.jpg DESCRIPTION: Photo that shows improvements in the CBX brand DRO display. Posted by Bill Chernoff of Shooting Star Technology . He provided the following description: ========================================================================= The CBX-DRO has been improved so the comparison photo in DRO-COMP.JPG is no longer valid. We have only just started shipping the improved CBX-3d last week. (Jan 14 2000) The CBX-3d DRO has been updated with a brighter display (adjustable). Compare the lower display in the photo with the nice bright one above. This is taken under bight flourescent lamps. The unit in the comparison photo-see elsewhere- with the ESCALLA unit is an old one. Other recent improvements in the CBX-3d are that the configuration is stored in non-volatile memory. This means when you turn the unit 'on', the reversible scale count directions, inch/mm mode, DIA mode, and INC/ABS mode are all restored to the same settings the user had chosen before turning the unit 'off'. Non-volatile tool offsets are coming soon. Every DRO we sell comes with a manual, contrary to what has been reported. A full description of how to use each feature is given. Granted, there are no blueprints on where to drill mounting holes in any specific machine, but mounting guildlines and instructions are given. There is a dimensioned drawing of the encoder head itself, which gives mounting hole locations. We at Shooting Star Technology take customer input seriously, and would like to thank everyone their comments. For more info, see www.star-techno.com
