These are pictures of a shop made lathe toolpost. Posted

As promised, here are 3 snapshots taken of a small, non-indexing
turret toolpost I made for my Pratt & Whitney bench lathe.  In the
second and third one, you can make out the way I grind the HSS
turning tool without any back rake.  The cutting edge is very
nearly conicident with the top corner of the tool blank.

Looking at the post, I can guess it was probably made from a
scrap piece of hot-rolled steel.  Not heat treated, but I was
going through a period of practicing scraping. so the top and
bottom are nicely scraped and frosted, just for fun.
