Bud provided the following description: ================================================================= These photos are of my new welding trailer. The welder itself is a 1956 Lincoln SA200. I rebuilt both the motor and generator. With lots of iron and solid copper windings, this beast is HEAVY, hence the heavy built trailer. I prefer a gooseneck hitch as it distributes the weight better to the truck and connecting is a snap for one man. This is still a work in progress, so missing in the photos is a large Knack style tool box that I have built that is mounted forward between the uprights. I have also built a set of four custom folding jackstands that are mounted upright behind the cable racks. I really enjoy using the rear mounted work bench and the adjacent cutting table prevents fires under the trailer when I am cutting with a torch. Eventually I will need to add a ladder rack and hopefully a hydraulic boom crane to get weldments up to the bench. I painted the trailer bright Lincoln red as it gets attention ( read jobs) when I am driving around town. The trailer itself is totally hand built with full electric brakes on all four wheels and all wiring is enclosed in PVC conduit. I have enjoyed this project, and I look forward to receiving any comments or suggestions to make it a complete mobile shop.
