FILENAMES: art1.jpg art1.jpg DESCRIPTION: These are photos of a neat sculpture of a lathe and operator. Posted by Esben Beck . Esben provided the following description: ================================================================= Here's a a cool metal sculpture I got at the Brau 2000 fair in Nüremberg. It's the only lathe that I am allowed too keep in the living room. The price was DM 130, but as it was the last day at the fair I didn't have enough cash at hand. I felt desperate. I really NEEDED this sculpture. Obviously, there must have been something with the expression of my face when I saw the sculpture, that made artist Frank Fischer sympathise with me. He actually gave me the sculpture along with his bank account number. He didn't even ask for any ID. Now that's what I call a nice guy. (He has received his money by now, I hope). My floor boards are 4" wide, which will give you an impression of the size. The pictures does not sreveal the level of details, unfortunately. The tailstock slides, allowing me to insert a small workpiece in the chuck. This is his URL: http://www.schraubenmaennle.com/ Have a look, lots of cool stuff. (I have no relations whatsoever to his business - but this guy really deserves his URL mentioned at RCM). Regards, Esben, Norway
