FILENAMES: INDBIG.jpg INDSML.jpg DESCRIPTION: These are scans of drawings for indicator holders. Posted by Boris Beizer . Boris provided the following description: ================================================================= Text: These are two indicator holders that I made for my Aloris style (AXA/100) Phase II toolpost. They are very handy. The small one is used for getting in close and with a small indicator. The big one can take various indicators with a lug mounting. Adjust dimentions to suit. The step in the big indicator holder is to allow the holder to drop down far enough below the compound so as to be on center for the work. They are indsml.gif for the small indicator and indbig.gif for the big indicator holder. You can adjust as required, of course. The other picture in the indmsl file shows what I am using for the dovetail. This is slightly modified from what Fitch Williams had. I found that this procedure works out nicely for me ....now that I'm into the 14th or so dovetail.. 1. Cut the slot to 1.25 +- .005 2. Depth to 0.370 +0 -.01 3. Cut the dovetail so that it measures exactly 1.000 between 1/4" diameter rods. I use a 1" gauge block. 4. Use the face of the dovetail cutter to bring the dovetail to the right depth (0.375) 5. Widen out the slot to 1.35 by taking .05 off both ends.
