Posted by Dan Mauch . Dan provided the following description: ================================================================= Here are some pictures of my Vacuum forming machine that I built using plans from the Vince Gingery book ISBN 1-878087-22-3 (order from 417-890-1965) The Book, "A plastic forming machine" is well written and the drawings are very good. I had few problems assembling it. It uses an air venturi using a compressor to pull a vacuum on the twin tanks. Valving allows charging of the vacuum flasks then pulling the vacuum on an adjustable platten. A 110V oven heating element and a range control switch controls the heating element that swings out of the way. The plastic locking frame will hold 12X15 sheets of plastic for rather large objects. You can use either positive or negative moulds. The plans say that you can pull plastic up to 3/16" thick. I have tried .04 to 3/32 and both work well tho it does take a bit longer. I highly recommend Vince's Book if you need a near commercial quailty vaccum forming machine. To see some of my other information on CNC see www.seanet.com/~dmauch
