FILENAMES: Logan_deliv1.JPG Logan_deliv2.JPG Logan_deliv3.JPG Logan_deliv4.JPG DESCRIPTION: These are pictures of a Logan lathe being moved. Posted by Leigh Knudson . Leigh provided the following description: ================================================================= These four photos show how I moved a Logan lathe 5/03/01. We move machines like this regularly but I just wanted to show you folks how simple it is with the right equipment. It took longer to take the photos then to load the lathe. Note the wood under the ways on the forks to keep the lathe from slipping on the steel forks. There are two ratcheting tie-downs holding the lathe in place on the pickup truck. If you need a really good metal project look at the tie-downs on the bed rails of my GMC. They work great and actually allow me to tarp the truck against rain, though these pics were on a really typical SoCal day. Leigh @ MarMachine ------------------------------- Logan_deliv1.JPG All snugged down and ready for a ride across town. ------------------------------- Logan_deliv2.JPG Bet that makes lots of you nervous being way up in the air. It is really pretty safe but I won't drive the forklift more then about 6 feet with the forks up like that. ------------------------------- Logan_deliv 4.JPG Just out of the shop with wood between the forks and the bottom of the lathe bed. A very safe way to move a lathe.
