This is a picture of a lathe turning bar made by Wayne Cook.

 Here's a picture of the bar I made for turning
flanges. I left the normal bar in there primarily
because it's heavy and I didn't want to lift it. :-)

 One problem with this type of holder is that it
was time consuming to turn everything around
so we could use it to turn the outside of flanges
which are often to big to go over the carriage
on this lathe but swing easily over the ways.
I made this bar and holder so we could turn
the outside of the flanges without having to
tear down the regular bar for boring them.
