Posted by Wayne Cook . The following description was provided: ================================================================= These are some pictures of some tools I got at a auction this weekend. Drillpress01 through Drillpress03 are shots of a old Buffalo Forge drillpress probably used by Noah. It's got a #4 morse taper in it and with the belting and transmission that's been put on it will got real slow. The feed lever is unusual with a hand lever operated latch for repositioning. There's considerable slack in the shaft bushings for the feed. That's going to need looking into. The quill has about 7 1/2" of moment. It's got a 3hp 3phase motor on it at the moment. That's about a 1 3/8" drillbit in it at the moment and the vice came with it. I paid $300 for this one with that bit and vice. Drillpress04 and Drillpress05 are of the other drillpress I got at the same auction. I'm not sure of the brand though it looks a little like some Rockwell drillpresses I've seen. It's got a some unusual features like a barber chair hydraulic cylinder for raising and lowering the table. There's also provision for a foot feed of the quill. The connection rod for this is missing but will be easy to replace. The quill has considerable travel on this one as well. I got this one for $175 and paid $5 for the box of chucks and adapters that's sitting on it. Shear.jpg is of the Beverly 2B throatless shear I got there as well. It's been treated rather badly and needs at least a new upper blade. But I only paid $50 for it with that heavy duty C-clamp that's holding it to the saw horse that came with it as well. The C-clamp alone would cost $50.
