The following description was provided: ================================================================= My recently purchased Clausing 5418 lathe had been sitting for about six years and blown full of dirt and grit. It needed complete disassembly, cleaning and relubrication. I discovered early on that a tooth had been knocked out of the bullgear. Later I found the tooth next to the missing one had been previously repaired by brazing and likewise a tooth in the mating gear. I decided not to use brazing in order not to destroy the existing repaired gear, but rather to pin it. Attached are three photos: bullgear before, bullgear during, and bullgear after.
