FILENAMES: metalunknown.JPG DESCRIPTION: This is a picture of a piece of unknown metal. Posted by sunworshiper . Sunworshiper provided the following description: ================================================================= I found this ( metalunknown in the drop box) about a mile from Timet (a place that makes titanium). Its 3.75" Dia. X 3", looks like a test ingot. Looks like it was pressed hot, the ends are bumpy and the sides bulged and smooth. I tried turning it, but it cut about the same amount off the carbide tool . I've had it for years and bugs me what it is, and I don't need a door stop. Plus there is all kinds of Gov't things around here, so it could glow in the dark as far as I know. That's another thing, is exposed lead radioactive? I often wonder at things I find, like rail road spikes that are 1/3rd of what they where and pitted badly. Who know's what has been leaking out of rail road cars. They may dig up leaking gas stations, but I bet they never test around the tracks.
