Posted by Wayne Cook . The following description was provided: ================================================================= These are the final pictures of the frame stretching. I'm done with my part of that stage. The owner will be putting the rest of the stuff back on. It came to me fairly stripped with the front driver moved back to the rear driver position on the tail end. As you can see it's now back in that position with the extension sticking back for the rear drivers. #7 is a shot of the drill and dead man I used to drill the holes in the insert and extension. It got to be a bear to do before it was over with my hands and shoulders hurting from turning the feed screw. It was especially bad in the rear where I was drilling through the frame extension, the insert, and the plate making a total of 1 1/8" of steel to drill with the 5/8" bit. But they all got done with the total working out to about 180-190 drilled (I never had time to get a good count). There will be some more holes to drill once the bed and lift get ready to mount but I'm waiting to find out just where they need to be. #8 shows how the insert ends up near the rear spring hanger of the front axle. I had intended to go all the way to it but the inserts proved a little short once it was figured out that more was needed hanging off the back than originally figured. #9 shows how the plate ends at the front spring hanger of the front driver. I added this to take care of the extra load of the under lift and to reinforce the splice of the original frame. #10 shows the overall rear of the truck with the extensions on it. Makes for a fairly long rig. Finally #11 shows how it looked sitting in the door of the shop.
