FILENAMES: Weld_1.jpg Weld_2.jpg DESCRIPTION: These are pictures of welding parts for a squirrel cage blower. Posted by Tim M. Williams . The following description was provided: ================================================================= These are pictures of some welds I made with my home-made welder. Weld_1.jpg - I *just* made this practice weld, and it looks pretty good in 3D (i.e. reality). Well, for this welder anyway... Weld_2.jpg - Since my sheetmetalworking tools basically consist of a 1/2" chuck/2" quill (?) drill press, a pair of tin snips, and a few sets of pliers, my only easy way out is cutting a tangent in order to cut the disc from the center. As a result, I had to weld the seam back together. What is the latter for? A home made squirrel-cage blower. :) Only 8 blades, but with 1 1/2" height, it should be able to push a *little* air pretty easily. I have two such rings, so it'll be stronger (one on top, one on bottom). All 22ga. steel. Tim
