Posted by Matt Isserstedt . The following description was provided: ================================================================= TOK fellows, I know I keep posting electrical. I'll get to the machine shop stuff soon. Here's the Adcock-Shipley #1ES mill's factory panel. I was forced (under duress I might add) to repair this to get the mill running. 4 relays/contactors appear across the middle of the board. Left-most is a summation of the belt door interlock switches. It basically decides if the doors are closed so that the "start" button signal can be "sealed in" by its own contact. Middle two relays are spindle motor contactors for forward and reverse. Two of the poles are reversed between these to provide a reversing feature. One overload heater (disconnected) is also present. These contacts were *burned*....more missing copper than smoked copper on the contact pads. They were also German parts and I wasn't patient to find replacements. 4th contactor (rightmost) is for a coolant pump, which I didn't have and didn't want. The most shocking thing was the black power wires coming out of the overload heater to the terminal strip. I swear these were 18 gage wires....for a 2hp factory motor, mine was juiced to 3hp. This might have been part of the voltage drop problem.
