FILENAMES: applepeeler.jpg DESCRIPTION: This is a picture of a casing in need of repair. Posted by R.B. "Buck" Lawson . The following description was provided: ================================================================= My mother broke one of the prongs from her favorite apple peeler / corer / slicer. The prong simply is inserted into the end of the apple to hold the apple while it is turned via a crank. There are 2 other prongs, still in good position and condition. The metal appears to be cast. I was thinking I should simply drill a slight recess into the mount for the broken prong to fit into then O/A braze it. Any other ideas? Could I use the TIG unit to braze it and avoid the flux? Settings? Lincoln SP175 Pro. .163"diameter x 1.279" prongs and .298" thick mount. R.B. "Buck" Lawson [rblawson@sympatico.ca]
