Posted by Matt Isserstedt . The following description was provided: ================================================================= This is a #1-1/2 arbor press I bought in dire straits. It was gunked up, had a broken arm, and everything was loose as a goose. The following arborXX.jpg files are the photo history of its restoration. Eames owned the press line before Atlas (of small lathe, mill, shaper, and drill press fame), and Atlas sold it to Dake in the 1940s. Ironically this press is identical in design to a modern Dake with the exception of badging, and small fasteners such as square-head setscrews and screw-machined bolts. Machine tools used in the restoration were an Atlas 10" QC-54 lathe, a Clausing 5914 lathe, a M-head round ram Bridgeport mill, and an Adcock-Shipley horizontal mill. Email me with any questions. Don’t try this at home 8-) matt.isserstedt@gm.com 30 Aug 2002
