Quick sketch of a 'smoke grinder' - handle left off for clarity.
The handle would be a bar (simple or fancy as you like) attaching
to the two sliders with screws in the noted holes, and extending
in one direction for clearance.

One way to make these is to use clear plastic for the body, shows
the moving parts better.
