FILENAMES: American_Flag.jpg DESCRIPTION: This is a picture of an American flag cutting tool path for CNC machining. Posted by Robert DuCharme . The following description was provided: ================================================================= To All: I played around with a flag idea today in Virtual Gibbs. This is a screen shot of the how Gibbs' rendered what the finished engraving toolpath would create. The geometry was created and proportioned to the numbers given in the following site: http://www.usflag.org/flag.specs.html It was then scaled up to obtain a 5.7" dimension in X. Incidentally, the little stars took the most time with temporary construction lines all over the place, for the stripes I just quickie translated long rectangles on top of themselves, this of course, makes the resulting toolpath VERY inefficient since many of the lines would be machined twice. It was a fun little project though. -- BottleBob http://home.earthlink.net/~bottlbob
