Bport_Cherrying Head is a stern photo of the
cherrying head.  The turret can of course be swung
around so that the head is over the table.  The
spindle of the head is adjustable for depth of stroke
 and side to side movement.  I have never used one
of these devices but I understand that they were
used prior to the CNC era, and prior to EDM to rough
out mold cavities.

Bport_Cherrying Head 2 is a offside view. 

Bport_shaping Head is a photo of a shaping head.
Again the turret would be swung to position the 
head over the table.  The arrow points to the 
adjustment mechanism that allow changing the 
length and position of the stroke.
