This Hendy lathe marked 16x6 is owned by an acquaintance who 
would like to know its age.  It has what appears to be a serial 
number stamped in the bed on the tailstock end just behind the 
first V.  Number is 28323.  Can anyone tell approximate year 
of mfg?
