Steam engine I am trying to get more details about.  The valve (slide type) inside the valve gear 
appears to be a replacement that was poorly made.  I am trying to find out how to make a workable
replacement for this piece.  The engine appears to be one that was partially completed and left 
to "age" under the counter for too long.  There are new screws, cobbled together base and that 
fit with this idea.  I suspect that the valve slide got lost and the one in the valve gear is 
a "well this should work" kind of thing.
