File names: tigcrt1.jpg tigcrt2.jpg tigcrt3.jpg tigcrt4.jpg tigcrt.txt Description: The '.jpg' files are photos of a TIG Welder Cart with Hydraulic Lift Posted by: Dale Givens ***************************************************************************** The '.jpg' files show various views of a cart for my Miller 180 SD welder. Most carts require the operator to lift the gas bottles up onto a 'tray' where the bottle is secured. Since the larger bottles are quite heavy, I built a tray for the bottles that could be raised and lowered via a small hydraulic bottle jack. The photos show a single 330 cu. ft. Argon bottle on the tray, but the tray is wide enough to fit two bottles - this is to allow room for the bottle for my MIG machine (I plan to add a shelf above the TIG unit for the MIG). The cart is made of angle iron and the bottle tray and lifting rack slide against the vertical posts on the rear of the frame of the cart. The rack is held against the posts by plates that function similar to a 'gib'. The jack post rests against a 'lip' on the back of the rack. Note that the small piece of wood visible in the photos is simply a 'spacer' for the bottle to rest against. The cart also has a rack for 'rod cases', the cases were fabricated from PVC pipe. They allow protection for the rods and easy sorting by type (aluminum, steel, stainless, etc. as well as size). Note that the top shelf and the rod rack are removable (held on by bolts) so that they can be removed if there is a need to remove the cover of the welder for service.
