Harbor Freight Chop Saw Fix I just about ruined the armature on the chop saw cutting bricks. The dust got into the brushes and almost ate up the brushes and segments on the armature. Chopsaw.jpg shows the bad spot and Chopsaw2.jpg shows what it looks like after about .005" is removed from the copper. Small cuts and slow feeds should be used or you'll rip up the segments from the armature. Then use a file at a slow speed if the finish isn't good. After the file use about a 500 grit sand paper to smooth out and scratches. After all that is done clean very carfuly between each segment to get the chips and copper dust out or it will short across several segments burning things up again.
