Last week I picked up a 3 LED, 3 AA cell flashlight from a clearance bin in a
local hardware store.  These were marked down to $5 from $15.  It seems quite
well made with O-ring seals and all.  It is made in China and is labeled
"Tactical Gear".  Interestingly the colour balance of the light is quite
decent.  It may be using the so-called warm white LEDs.

Colour_Balance.jpg shows two cropped and joined photos.  One is taken by the 
light of the camera flash, the other using only the flashlight.  My digicam is
not capable of getting a good exposure under low light so I had to increase 
the gamma by 1.40 but I did nothing else.  The card is pretty pure white.
