These three pictures illustrate the bandsaw mechanism for stopping the saw at the end of a cut. There is a large hex head bolt with jam nut which looks like it should hit something, but all it hits is the wheel cover (removed in these pictures). Consequently the on-off switch is what stops the saw's downward descent. After assembly, I have a piece left over. Maybe it attaches somewhere so that the bolt hits it instead of the wheel cover?
