This article describes making the speed reducer for my neighbour's 
homebuilt bi-plane.  The machining was done on my Smithy AT-300 3-in-1 
and involved seriously pushing the envelope of the machines 
capabilities.  The end result is satisfactory and it gave my neighbour 
and I great pleasure in doing it successfully.
