The two photos show the area in = question on an art=20 glass vase that was represented as being
in good condition, but was = received=20 repaired, with no mention of the repair.    We even = made
an=20 inquiry before bidding to make sure we wouldn't end up with something = like we=20 did.

The sellers intentionally withheld the = condition of=20 the item in order to extract a higher value
for the piece, secure in = the=20 knowledge that such repairs have a profound effect on value.  =

They have used the defense that it is = not a repair,=20 but instead an inclusion.  Art glass such
as this (cameo glass) = is cut=20 and acid finished, so the patina is a matt surface that is = non-
descript,=20 free of scratches and very uniform.      The = area in=20 question clearly shows grinding
marks, plus the filler material is = wide=20 spread beyond the actual chipped area.

One photo (vase01) shows the piece = lighted from the=20 side, and profoundly defines that filler material as
opaque=20 substance.    The other photo (vase02) is taken with = overhead=20 lighting, showing the repair as it
would appear if the piece was not = back=20 lighted.

Aside from different lighting, nothing = has been=20 done to the photos.  What you see is what we=20 received.
