Here's the latest and final mini-bike chopper. The back wheel is from a Honda trail 70, and the front wheel was from a Honda scooter. Both items were purchased through ebay. I splurged and purchased a new Tecumseh engine rather than a used one. I couldn't hunt down an engine that would be dependable and inexpensive. I traded a gas tank I had for this one. The tank was off of an old suzuki enduro bike. The headlight is not functional, but it needs the light to really give it the "chopper" look. The handlebars are made out of a piece of .875" pipe. The brake levers, frame neck, (and cable stops) were from an old bicycle that was thrown out to the trash. The throttle and grips were purchased at a local motorcycle shop as well as the handlebar risers (he actually gave them to me, they came off of an old Honda parts bike out behind his shop). I simply polished them and put sleeves on the shafts to add strength. The front end trees and engine mounting plate were cut by a friend of mine who works on a computer operated laser cutting machine. I also added solid steel round bar inside the the front forks for strength. The last item was the seat which I made out of wood, polyester batting, and black vinyl. Total build time was about three weeks and the total cost was around $400. Enjoy!
