Construction notes on my Stereo Cart The cart was designed to hold my set of vintage Technics stereo equipment. Components include: SA-424 Reciever SLQ-303 Turntable M202 Dual Cassette Dubbing Deck M205 Cassette Deck SH-8025 7 Band Equalizer SP-8 Single CD Player These were all state of the art components when I bought them in 1982, and still rate amongst the highest performing stereo components of today. The champaign silver metal enclosures are much more pleasing than the black, cheapy plastic contruction of contemporary components. The cart is constructed from 1/2X1/4" channel perforated shelve support strips which are available for about $4 each in the 68" size, and 1/2X1/8" channel shelve strips. These use brass clips to locate the shelves. The shelves are contructed from 10X48" white painted shelves, which are each sawn into 2 20.75" sections. One section is ripped to 9.75" width. The 2 sections are joined to form a shelve 20.75 X 19.5" The Cart measures 67" tall x 21" wide X 20" deep. Triangular bracing is provided on sides and back for stability, and 4 ball casters are installed, so the Cart can be rolled in and out of it's cubby hole in the den. A 6 plug circuit protection power strip is attached in the bottom, where all components connect. All the component cords pass through 1 3/4" holes in the back of each shelve, so all wiring is neat and inside the Carts frame.
