I have run out of gifts for my mother. She has everything she needs, so i thought some garden decorations might be nice for an upcoming Birthday gift. I scarfed a sheet of 18ga sheet metal from a buddy who works in a sheet metal shop (they were scraps) and some border wire from a mattress company that I work at (they just toss them anyway) and made a garden toad (actually two). I started off with two oval pieces of sheet I cut with a grinding disc. Then I hammered them and mig welded together until I had my desired shape. The feet were cut in the same fashion. I bent the wire for the legs and walah! A few seconds in the sandblasting cabinet and some clear enamal. My Mom had herself a couple of garden critters. The flies on the tongues were a peice of wire, sheet metal wings, and I touched the mig wire on the body for antenaes. Enjoy the pics walt
