Here are pictures of my basement gantry hoist.  It was originally started as a way to get a 
huge roll of carpet up off the floor because it took so much space.  Later I added a bridge 
beam for light moving, and setting up my sheetmetal tools and a 24x36 castiron suface 
plate.

Trolleys are Jervis B Webb 1/2 ton devices, the hoist trolley is a low profile CM trolley 
from Grainger.
