Here are some pictures of a Clausing 250A automatic bandsaw I came across at a good price. The saw is fully automatic, there is a limit switch attached to the cross-member between the two round bars sticking out of the saw. This sets the part length, the bars could be extended if needed. The feed rollers run via electric motor and worm gearbox until the switch is “made”, then the vise clamps hydraulically, and the saw motor starts, and begins its descent, this is hydraulically controlled. At the end of the cut, the saw raises, and the feed cycle begins again. There is a mechanical counter device to set the total number of parts to be sawed and has a resettable counter to show the current count. Nice for production work, it even has a blade breakage switch and out-of-stock detect so it could truly run “lights-out”. The Clark forklift came in quite handy to offload this machine, it is nice and sturdy at around 1300 lbs. Matt Isserstedt mattofvinings@aol.com 02 Dec 2005
