Using an 1860's 6' metal planer to straighten the cross feed screw on a smaller metal planer. Started off with about .020" bow in feed screw and ended up with less than .001" after several iterations. The vertical (clapper) feed of the big planer never had to be turned tightly to bend the feed screw. Oddball use of an old planer! Irby Jones 6/21/2008
