this base is painted in gray wrinkle paint, it holds a 1 3/4 inch shaft, has four 1/4 inch mounting holes, is 6 1/2 wide, 2 1/2 deep (not counting the curve) and the part that holds the shaft sticks up 3 inches.

I presume this is a base for something and that it is bolted or screwed to a table - it looks familiar, but for the life of me I can't figure out what exactly it fits - any clues appreciated
