I have been trying to find a return spring assembly for 
this drill press without any luck. Type and brand would 
be "Big Ol'Honkin" as near as I can tell since there is 
no maker mark of any kind or serial number/ID plate anywhere 
on it. It's currently wired for 3 phase with a 1HP motor 
with a reverse but that looks to be a changeout from the 
original by a previous owner.THe shaft where the return 
spring is missing is 7/8" and the threaded portion is 5/8". 
It looks like either a torsion spring or a flat spring is 
what I'm looking for if I have to build one but I''m still 
holding out on the idea that some company somewhere is making 
the replacement spring assemblies complete but I will fab the 
thing if I have to. 

If you have any info or helpful tips on how to fab one up from
