sb10x26_00.txt Here are some pics of my fairly worn Southbend 10" lathe. Some of the pictures show a little brown in some places which looks like rust, but it is not. I think it's gummed-up oil. The spindle rotates freely and feels tight(no noticable slop) but I have not yet performed the movement test. Additionaly, the carriage feels nice and solid with no noticable binding, although I think the ways are worn even though no ridges are noticeable with the naked eye. The gears are all clean with not much wear, and the lathe runs very quiet. But I haven't pulled it fully apart yet to give it a full inspection. -Justin Holmes justin@holmesweb.net Nov 28 2005
