These tables, manufactured by the same company that invented 
round ballways, were popular near the end of the NC era/beginning
of cnc.  Obviously obsolete now with cheap cnc, but some hobbiest use.
Used for copy milling and drilling.  Even used as stages for regrinding
spindles on large machine tools in situ.
